E-STRAN
(Emergency Satellite Transmission Aerospace Network)

The Emergency Satellite Transmission Aerospace Network (E-STRAN) is a low-cost satellite based interoperability solution for public safety communications. All forms of data flow between emergency vehicles/ mobile units and the communication data centers. Each remote terminal unit (RTU) has independent access to local, state and national databases. The E-STRAN system integrated platform provides computer report generation, instant messaging, e-mail broadcasting and file transferring. E-STRAN addresses and corrects issues related to interoperability and terrestrial points of failure, and provides additional capabilities such as GPS location mapping.
